Fern Lodge

Whenever we are in the Coromandel and NOT staying at my parent’s house, this is where we go. It is a beautiful and charming place to stay in the tree’s.

This was my review on trip-advisor the second time we went:

Back again and still the Best! – Reviewed 1 March 2011

I returned with my partners family a year later to the Celadon because we enjoyed it so much the first time, and we were not disappointed. I am sad to see the one negative review on this site, but I think that whomever it was may well have had incompatible expectations. The Celadon is not an impersonal ‘contemporary polished granite kitchen surfaces and gleaming metal everywhere type place’… its different, its charming, a wee bit rustic and artsy .. and the attraction of it is exactly that.. the peace and quiet in the bush in something that suits it’s environment, incredibly friendly, laid back and comfortable – which is not to say the facilities are not all there… they are. Ray is wonderful… even when I had a medical emergency and an ambulance had to come get me in the middle of the night! there was no question about a late-checkout etc.. oh and the grapes were ripe, so we enjoyed eating those off the vine growing over the porch! 🙂

Stayed February 2011, travelled with family

It seem’s like the accommodation has been updated and redone since we were there last (along with the name, it used to be called “Celadon”). Hopefully it still retains the ‘charm’ 🙂
